    when you play music with guys, you can't act like a girl all the time. Male musicians will crush your spirit if you act girly and stupid.If you are playing an instrument. If you are just a singer, well it's expected then. She's seriously intense and talented, brilliant, I might add.

    I suspect Patti's best is yet to come. Marriage, family, and concern can't keep her giant poet down forever. Eventually, when time is right, she will develop into a new poetic form, perhaps more wild, defiant, and vocal than might have been expected.

    I saw Patti Smith perform with The Stranglers as support in 1977 at the Hammersmith Odeon London,she was amazing and a revelation. Horses i bought the same year and thought it was the best thing i'd heard since Blonde On Blonde,Are You Experienced,The Doors & Let It Bleed. Having said that, Horses is the only great album she ever made and her reputation has been overinflated. She became a cultural ikon rather than a great recording artist. Daubrey Weirdsley

    She is one of the great artists of the century, right up there with Bob Dylan,Leonard Cohen. She doesn't just perform music, she is music, every atom of her soul beating away a crochet or ten. She is alive with music, she IS a song. Her whole persona jump starts you into a temporary state of nirvana. Enlightenment for the masses.
